Meet the Author

Priit J. Vesilind is an experienced author of outdoor adventure tales. At National Geographic, he served as Adventure & Expeditions Editor and Senior Writer.

After serving as a naval officer during the Vietnam War, he worked for the Atlanta Journal, Syracuse Herald-Tribune, and Providence Journal before a 30-year career at National Geographic. His other books include On Assignment, USA.

Vesilind has received Estonia’s Order of the White Cross medal.
